Kathryn Mann

Danville - Kathryn Mann, 86, of Danville, IL, passed away at 5:43 PM on September 19, 2017 at Presence United Samaritan Hospital in Danville, IL. Kathryn was born on February 22, 1931, the daughter of Archibald Clark and Gertrude Cathryn (Reuther) Watson in Chicago, IL. Kathryn married Louis D. Mann, Sr. on October 4, 1969 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on September 5, 2012. Survivors include; one son, Louis "Jay" D. Mann, Jr. of Danville, IL; one step-daughter, Rebecca "Becky" L. Elharti of Danville, IL; one very special grandson, Aron D. Mann of California; one brother, Robert Watson of Fithian, IL; one sister, Shirley Mae (Carroll) Cook of San Antonio, Texas; her faithful and loving dog, Sadie. Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Sr.; brothers, Bill and George Watson and sisters Betty Lou Watson, Delores Hanna and Mary Mann. Kathryn is also preceded in death by her second family Clarence and Berniece (Mom and Pap) Reuther, Robert Reuther, Millie O'Herron and Marge Smith. Kathryn is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Kathryn is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and graduated from Danville High School. She was retired from Illinois Bell. Kathryn enjoyed latch hook projects, reading, watching tennis and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears. Kathryn's family would like to give a special Thank You to the nurses on 4 East at United Samaritans for their wonderful and compassionate care. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61834. Father Loftus will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
