Kathryn A. Miller

Kathryn A. Miller, 92, of Danville, passed away at 5:43 a.m. Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Kathryn was born on January 8th, 1919 in West Lebanon, Indiana, the daughter of Earl and Lucille Kathryn (Hipsher) Biggs. She married Wendell Noble Miller on November 12th, 1939 in Danville. He preceded her in death on January 27th, 1977. She is survived by a son- James E. (Linda) Miller of Champaign, Illinois; daughter- Pat (Larry) Taylor of Beaverton, Oregon; brother- Richard E. (Janice) Biggs of Danville; six grandchildren- Shirley Jewell, Melaney Auxier, Jeffrey Taylor, Carrie Rufner, Marty Miller and Meagen Miller; 14 great-grandchildren; one niece; and a special cousin- Bob and Joan Day of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Kathryn graduated from Danville High School. She worked at Woodbury Bookstore for several years. Kathryn was a member of the Central Christian Church in Danville and former member of Muncie Baptist Church. She was also a past member of the Business and Professional Womens Club. She enjoyed traveling, reading, weaving and rug hooking and spending time with her family. The family would like to say a special Thanks to Kathryns personal care givers Janice, Donna, Mariesella, Becky and Lenora. Also all of the very special people at the Hawthorne Inn Assisted Living (Van Dyke Hall) for the special care that they took of her. A Celebration of the life of Kathryn A. Miller will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday May 6th, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Charles Strebin officiating. Burial will follow the service in Stearns Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Muncie Baptist Church.
