Kathrine "Kathy" Frances Hecker, 58, of Danville passed away at 7:03 AM Monday November 7, 2011 after a long battle with diabetes and heart disease. Kathy was born on December 4, 1952 in Danville the daughter of James and Marilyn (Hughes) Hecker. She is survived by one sister- Bess (Ron) Huls, one brother- James Hecker, one brother-in-law- Paul (Karen) Nipper, nieces and nephews- Jennifer (Jake) Heidrick, Adam Huls, Danny (Shannon) Nipper, Ryan Nipper, Troy Nipper, Bradley Heidrick; Kalyn, Nathan, and Addisyn Nipper all from Danville and James Hecker of Lafayette, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister- Virginia Sue Hecker Nipper and one infant sister Jean Marie. Kathy graduated from Bismarck-Henning High School in 1971. She worked at Pizza Inn (Jocko's) restaurant for several years and also worked at the Danville Elks Club and at Monical's Pizza in Hoopeston, IL. She moved to Harlingen, Texas in 1985 and dearly loved it there and worked at Sunny Glen Children's Home and Dominos Pizza. She attended Texas Southwest College pursuing a teaching degree in science and biology but moved back home to the Bismarck area in 2004 due to health reasons. Anyone that knew Kathy knew she lived life to the fullest. She made many great friends throughout her life, especially her church family and friends at Northside Church of Christ in Bismarck, and church family in Texas. Kathy always made a point of greeting everyone cheerfully and enjoyed sharing candy treats or gifts with others. She loved being outdoors, especially in the fall, loved music, books, movies and spending time with her cats. Kathy's family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at North Logan Healthcare Center in Danville for their caring support over the past two years and for treating her like family. They would also like to thank special friends, Brad Smith and Jim and Ellen Russell for caring so much and taking her to church every Sunday. A Celebration of Kathy's life will be held on Wednesday November 9, 2011 from 4-7 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday November 10, 2011 at the funeral home with Pastor Jimmie Hodges officiating. Burial will take place at Allhands Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Kathy's name to North Logan Healthcare Center and Northside Church of Christ in Bismarck.
