Kathleen 'Kay' Keller

Kathleen Kay M. Keller, 79, of Danville, passed away at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Kay was born on February 1, 1926 in Farmer City, Illinois, the daughter of Charles W. and Susie (Warren) Smith. She married Robert Barnes and then later married James M. Keller on February 2, 1979 in Danville, Illinois. He survives. She is also survived by one son- Doug Barnes of Houston, Texas; one step-son- James R. Keller of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two step-daughter- Cheryl (Richard) Blank of Crawfordsville, Indiana and Wendy (David) Henderson of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters- Wilma Jean (Bob) Crawford of Indianapolis, Indiana and Mary (Bob) Downard of Iowa; four grandchildren- Ryan Blank, Andrea Blank, Amiee Taylor, and Angie Henderson; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother- John W. Smith. Kay graduated from Oakwood High School in 1944. She worked as an administrative assistant at Colonial Manor for 30 years until retiring in 1993. After retiring from Colonial Manor she worked at Health Claims Services and retired from there in 1998. She was a member of Central Christian Church. In her earlier years she enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She loved dancing where James and her one several dancing awards. She enjoyed her work at Colonial Manor and the RNS Printing Company. She greatly enjoyed spending her time with her family and friends. A celebration of the life of Kathleen Kay M. Keller will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2005 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Rev. Dr. Don Vanzant officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. " 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church in Danville.
