DANVILLE - Kathleen E. “Katie” Lape, 92, of Danville passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at her daughters home in Covington, Indiana. Born July 16, 1922 in Danville, she was the daughter of Donald Hollis and Opal (LeNeve) Hollis Young. Katie attended Danville schools. She married Francis Lape on December 1, 1945 in Danville. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1971. Katie retired from Danville Metal Stamping. She was a great cook and enjoyed gardening and playing euchre with her best friend, Doris. Katie loved unconditionally, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by three daughters, Karen (Larry) Limauge of Des Moines, Iowa, and Kathy (Tony) Pritchard of Covington, Diane (Kenny) Patty of Covington; a son, Jim Lape of Oakwood; ten grandchildren, Margo (Andy) Hacker, Jamie (Jason) Tiffin, Kelly Jo Larson, Bob (Cynde) Hendrickson, Billy (Tammy) Hendrickson, Timothy Mason, Bo Patty, Nick (Nicole) Patty, Ryan Cramer and A.J. Lape; twenty five great grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; and one cousin. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 26 years, Francis; and a grandson, Jason Lape. A time of visitation for family and friends will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21st at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. A service to celebrate Katies life will follow visitation at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Richard Fay officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville.
