Katherine Rose Suchaczewski, 88, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family at 12:38pm, Monday, February 16, 2015. She was born in Westville, IL, on May 6, 1926, to John & Mary {Rigo} Russian, both deceased. She married Tony Suchaczewski on May 3, 1952. They were married for 52 years before he passed away in 2004. She came to live with her daughters family for the past ten years where her children were able to be a mother to her. Her life was devoted to God and her family. She was a faithful member of St. Marys Catholic Church where she attended daily Mass and prayed the Rosary. While her children were going through the Catholic School, she volunteered her time with the famous fish fry and spaghetti dinners. Mother was always there to love, to talk, and smile when her children came home from school with a homemade snack. The kitchen was her favorite place to be making her Hungarian, Czechoslovakian and Polish dishes. Katherine enjoyed flower gardening and canning fruits and vegetables for the family. Every celebration was festive with fellowship and food. Among her favorite celebrations were birthdays, holidays, family reunions, and vacations. It was not Christmas without her Orechovniky nut and poppy rolls and her Gallette and Kifflette cookies. Katherine leaves behind her five children, David Suchaczewski of Danville, IL, Rosanne (Howard) Brown of Mahomet, IL, Mary Lou Suchaczewski of Mahomet, IL, Tony Suchaczewski of Greenbelt, MD, Tim (Amy) Suchaczewski of Somonauk, IL. She was blessed with five grandchildren who were the love of her life: Kathryn Katie & Sarah Brown, Jessica, Samantha, & Isaac Suchaczewski. She is survived by: her loving sisters, Evelyn (Jim) Coleman of Veedersburg, IN, Theresa Kramer of Danville, & Rosalie (Harold) Bennett of Westville; her sister-in-laws, Blanche Russian of Westville, Carol Russian of Danville, Dorothy Suchaczewski of Westville, Josephine Suchaczewski of Georgetown, & Lillian Suchaczewski of Plainfield; and countless nieces, nephews, & cousins.
