Katherine Rodgers

Katherine "Kathy" Rodgers, 71, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 10:39am, Saturday, June 30, 2018, at her home. She was born on November 22, 1946, in Warren Co., Indiana, the daughter of Lloyd and Viola {Reffeit} Alcorn. She was united in marriage to Larry Rodgers on May 21, 1966, in Georgetown, IL, until his passing on August 31, 2010. She will be dearly missed by: her sons, Tim (Cathy) Rodgers of Tomball, TX, Scott (Sonna) Rodgers of Ridge Farm, Brian (Shelley) Rodgers of Oakwood, & Ralph Lomax of Covington, IN; her daughter, Debbie (Dan) Crawford of Lawrenceville, IL; her sister, Melody (Buddy) Dixon of Danville; her 10 grandchildren, T.J. (Brandy) Young, Tyler (Toni) Young, Nate Crawford, Josh Crawford, Jeromy (Sara) Spesard, Josh Rodgers, Tanner (Mei) Rodgers, Halley Woods, Neel (Erin) Rodgers, & Steven (Corinne) Rodgers; and her sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother, Floyd Alcorn; and her sisters, Shirley Andrews, Janie Johnson, & Sharon O'Daffer. Kathy earned her Nursing Degree at Parkland College in 1990 and worked at the VA Hospital in Danville for 20 plus years as a Registered Nurse and then as a Patient Advocate until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling to Tunica, Mississippi, where she enjoyed the river boat casino. She also enjoyed going boating & camping with her family. Kathy loved listening to Country Music and attended many concerts. Her family was most important to her and loved spending time with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Ronnie Crawford officiating. Visitation will be held 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Thursday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery, Ridge Farm.
