Katherine Long

Katherine Long, 49, of Westville IL, passed away at 11:58 pm on Monday March 25, 2013, at the Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville IL. She was born on April 14, 1963, to Jerry and Linda Lou (Cook) Pluskis in Hammond IL. She married Bruce Long on November 29, 1986 in Tilton IL., he survives. Other survivors include her sons Randall Scott Cockrell of Champaign and Brandon Lee Pluskis of Danville; daughter Jessie Lolita Long of Westville; grandchildren Michael Marcellous Long, Stormy Porter and Kaitlyn Alexzandria Pluskis; her mother Linda Lou (Kenny) Reffett; brother Richard Pluskis and sister Janet Stone; and numerous nieces and nephews. Katherine was preceded in death by her father Jerry Pluskis and her sister Deanna Lynn Strawser. A graduate of Georgetown High School Katherine worked as a manager for a number of years at a local Pizza Hut. She was a loving wife and devoted mother to her children. She enjoyed swimming at the local pool and took great pride in her three grandchildren. A celebration of Katherine's life will be held at 10:00 am on Friday March 29, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville IL. with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating and burial at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Thursday March 28, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville.
