Karl H. Armbruster, 91, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Saturday January 10, 2009 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. He was born on September 15, 1917 in Chicago, IL the son of Dr. Karl H. and Katherine (Wilcox) Armbruster. He married Lucille Jeffries. She preceded him in death. Survivors include: one sister, Katherine A. (Roy) Waterman of Chicago, IL; two nieces, Jane A. (Dan) Brazelton of West Milton, OH and Barbara A. (Larry) Herron of Ridge Farm; great nieces and nephews, Ryan A. (Jennifer) Brazelton of OH, Brent A. Brazelton of OH, Grant I. (Miranda) Brown of Ridge Farm, and Krysten T. Brown of Ridge Farm; one great-great nephew, Seth Brown; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Karl was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. He served on the U.S.S. Kennebec, where he was a Chief Ship Fitter. He worked as a welder and retired from ACME Welding. Karl enjoyed doing any kind of woodworking. The pride and joy of his life was his dog Pepper. A celebration of Karls life will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday January 14, 2009 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7 Wednesday, two hours prior to the service.
