Danville - Karen Sue Wynn passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on April 9, 1948, in Danville to Eugene and Bonnie (King) Adams. She married her husband of 51 years, E. Wayne Wynn, on July 25, 1968. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2019.
Karen dedicated her professional life to serving as a circuit clerk for the U.S. District Court. Beyond her career, she was an enthusiastic fan of the Cubs, Illini, and Bears, bringing her spirited support to every game. Karen also loved music, baking apple pies, fishing, or just spending the day out on the boat. She looked forward to volunteering for the Festival of Trees. She also enjoyed visiting amusement parks, and the time spent traveling with her husband and family. She cherished those moments spent with family above all.
She is survived by her son, Wayne (Shawn) Wynn of Petersburg, Illinois; her grandchildren, Cole (McKaylah) Wynn, Michael Holt, and Anna Tamborski; her brother, Phil Adams of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by them dearly.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
A service to celebrate the life of Karen Wynn will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL, 61834. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 8:30 – 11 AM prior to the service on Saturday, also at Sunset in Danville.
