Karen Sprouls

Karen J. Sprouls, 86, of Georgetown passed away on July 24, 2024 at Goldwater Care in Danville. She was born on October 23, 1937 in Tuscola to the late John and Lois (Seip) Perry. Karen is survived by her husband of 67 years, Gerald Sprouls; their daughter Jane (Joe) Berry of Avon, Indiana; and grandsons Caleb and Kyle Berry. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother John "Mickey" Perry. Karen worked as a paralegal for over 40 years and then returned to school to receive her bachelors degree. She took on the role of a substitute teacher for a little while before she began tutoring people to obtain their GED through a program at DACC. She was also a beautiful piano player. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 1:00- 2:30 pm CST at Sunset Funeral Homes Houghton-Leasure Chapel, located at 200 E. West St., in Georgetown. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm that afternoon, also at the funeral home. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Georgetown United Methodist Church.
