Mahomet- Karen L. "Mem" Bennett, 61, of Mahomet, left this life at 9:41 a.m. on Wed. Jan. 16, 2013 at her home with her loving family by her side. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 : 00 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 19, 2013. There will be time for sharing memories so please come to the service with your favorite story of Karen. The service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Champaign- Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil St. in Champaign. Entombment will follow the service in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or the Carle Community Care Program. Karen was born June 23, 1951 in Danville. She was the daughter of James C. and Thelma J. Morlan Vibbert. She married Billy F. Bennett on Aug. 23, 1974 in Danville. He survives. Also surviving is her daughter Michelle "Missy" (Justin) Morfey of Mahomet. 2 grandchildren, Ashlie (Brad) Marcy of Bloomington, and Dakota Morfey of Mahomet. One very special great granddaughter Kennedy Grace Michele Marcy of Bloomington. She is also survived by a sister Kay (the late Chuck) Waltzer of Champaign. Karen was the sales floor receptionist at Sullivan- Parkhill Auto Dealership for the last 14 years. She enjoyed her job greatly. She was known to her family as being fun loving, bubbly, and ornery. She was a born again believer in Christ and she is now in her heavenly home. She enjoyed shopping, decorating her home, and absolutely loved driving her little red Miata. Most of all her family was her life, and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
