Karen Lynn Carey

Danville Karen Lynn Wydeven Carey, 59, of Danville went to be with family in Heaven on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at her home. She was born November 19, 1964 in Appleton, WI to Rohan and Wilma (Lau) Wydeven. She was previously married to Jon Carey, with whom she had two daughters.

She is survived by her two daughters, Shauna Emmale Carey and Kasey Lee Carey, both of Danville; six grandchildren, Dylanie Lynn Shouse, Treyson Shouse, Jayden Carey, Dawson Carey, Benton Harper, and Arian Davis; and four siblings, Deborah (Dan) Lemke, Terry (Lindy) Wydeven, Shari (James) Pose, and Michael Wydeven.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her mother and father-in-law, Sharon and Lawrence Carey.

Karen served her country as a Dispatch Operator in the United States Army. Her work in the military was her calling and was her favorite job she ever had. She loved to be outside working in her garden, enjoyed cooking for her family, and was talented in many different arts and crafts. Most of all, Karen loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. They were her world and she will be deeply missed by them.

Per her wishes, there will be no services for Karen at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834.
