Karen Jensen

Karen M. Jensen 64 of Danville passed unexpectedly in her home. Karen was born Jan. 15, 1954 in Chicago, the daughter of Olaf and Betty Martin Jensen. She spent her early years living in the Chicago area, graduating from Taft High School in 1974. She then moved to Danville where she attended Danville Area Jr. College graduating in 1976 and receiving her state License for Practical Nursing in Feb. of 1977. She worked from the time of graduation until 2001 at Lakeview Hospital in the ICU dept and later in surgical services. After leaving the hospital she worked for a time at The Hawthorne Inn nursing home facility. Karen was an avid Nascar fan and could be found faithfully watching the race every weekend during the season. She enjoyed her many flowers and was always very proud of plantings. Trivia was her claims to fame, she would come up with answers to a wide range of trivia questions. She is survived by her brother Gerald (Chauncey Smith) Jensen of San Francisco, CA. and a host of extended family and friends both in the Chicago area and in Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents Olaf and Betty Jensen and well as her beloved dog, Skyler.
