Karen Hodgeman

Karen Hodgeman, 60, of Bourbonnais, Illinois, formerly of Danville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2009. Karen was born July 6, 1948, in Herrin, Illinois, the daughter Eleanor M. Hodgeman and the late James T. Hodgeman who passed away on May 31, 2002. Surviving is one brother Thomas (Kathryn) Hodgeman of Wheatfield, Indiana. A niece, Bridget (Bill) Hillestad of Hebron, Indiana, and a very special great nephew Zachary Hillestad of Hebron, Indiana. Also surviving is an uncle and Aunt, Fred & Vivian Hodgeman of Royalton, Illinois, and several cousins. Karen worked at Dukes, ORourke law firm for 2 years in Danville, Illinois; Watseka Area Career Center for 10 years in Watseka, Illinois as a high school business teacher; Kankakee Community College for 12 years in Kankakee, Illinois; and 8 years at Kankakee High School as a high school business teacher. She enjoyed her family, students, and other hobbies. A celebration of Karens life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. James Blue officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Karens name to American Cancer Society.
