Danville, IL. Karen E. Martin, 80, of Danville, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at her home.

She was born February 26, 1943, in Urbana, Illinois, daughter of the late Raymond and Camille (Trotter) Block

She married David Martin on November 30, 1985, in Danville, Illinois and he survives.

Other survivors include her children: Donald Dines of Danville, IL, Charles Dines of Valdosta, GA, and Victoria Marie (Siegal) Hall of Georgetown, IL; her brothers: Jerry Block of Danville, IL., Kenny Block of Bismarck, IL., Jim Block of Charleston, SC; her sisters: Debbie Townsley of Danville, IL., and Beth Carrigan of Danville, IL; her grandchildren: Joshua Dines, Zachary Dines, Becca Hall, John Martin, Amanda Hall, Justin Hall, and Jessica Massey along with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by one sister: Marilyn Jones and one brother: Richard Block.

Karen was a teacher for HeadStart in Danville for 32 years. If there was one thing that Karen enjoyed the most, it was finding a good deal. She loved taking trips to Champaign to her favorite thrift stores such as The Salvation Army and Goodwill. When she wasnt out thrifting, she was most content staying at home and spending time with her family.

Per Karens wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private graveside committal will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL., 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donations in Karens name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
