Kara Lynn Boyer

Kara Lynn (Whittington) Boyer, 50, of Danville passed from this life with her family, devoted husband, and mother by her side on December 21, 2015. Through her short battle with cancer, Kara remained positive and anticipated being reunited with her father and youngest daughter. Kara was born the daughter of Edward and Linda Whittington on November 27, 1965 in Danville. She married Richard "Bud" Boyer on August 11, 2002 in Danville. Kara is survived by her husband; her mother; children Jennifer (Marc) Carpenter, Nathan (Kayla) Boyer, and Matt (Meagan Hubble) Boyer; grandchildren Lilly, Jaxsen, Callie, Kylee, Julius, Taylor, and Anna; brothers D.G. (Beth) Washkowiak, Rich (Carrie) Washkowiak, and Jason Washkowiak; grandmother Alice Whittington; special Aunt Janet Payne; many loved nieces, nephews, & cousins; and childhood best friend Sherry Sanders. Special loving care was provided by her cousins Dena White & Rachel Meadows; Jason Watson with Iroquois Hospice; and Dr. Labayog & his staff. Kara is preceded in death by her daughter Kristin Bernard; fathers Eddie Whittington & Donald Washkowiak; Grandpa & Grandma Piatt; and Grandpa Whittington. Kara enjoyed a lifetime love of owning and caring for horses, riding motorcycles, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved being outside camping, mushroom hunting, and fishing, and she looked forward to the annual Girls Knight Out. Kara lived life to the fullest; her big heart and caring spirit will be deeply missed. Lilly Rae will forever love and miss her Mimi. Visitation will be held at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel on Wednesday December 23, 2015 from 11am-1pm with service to follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Gordon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Kara's name to Bobette Steely Hegeler Cancer Center or American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
