Champaign - Kamarie Sariyah Emelenn Wash, 7, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in Cartersville, GA. She was born on August 28, 2008 in Urbana, IL, the daughter of Kashira Pettigrew. She is survived by her mother, Kashira (Marcus Robinson) Pettigrew of Champaign; three siblings, Kamyra Robinson, Kaisha Robinson, and Kejuan Pettigrew; Aunt/Mother Georgia Pettigrew; uncles, Kentonio Pettigrew and Kaverunt Pettigrew; favorite cousin, Tiwana Arosco; grandfather, Derrick Caston; step grandmother, Tanya Hubbard; and many other uncles, aunts, cousins, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Emelenn Pettigrew, great-grandmother, Versie Pettigrew, and great-grandfather Leotis Pettigrew. Kamarie was born a star and loved to sing and dance. She was a member of the Junior Choir at Church of the Living God, the C-Uperstars, and a dance group with Ted Cooper and her mom. Kamarie also loved to help others and always enjoyed leading and having fun with her sisters. Aside from her singing career, she liked to cook and read as well. She was full of life and had a big heart and will always be remembered as a loving, caring person. A Celebration of Life for Kamarie Wash will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Church of the Living God at 1109 N. 4th St. in Champaign. Bishop Gwin will officiate. Local arrangements and cremation rites will be accorded by Sunset's Champaign-Urbana Chapel at 710 N. Neil St. in Champaign. Memorials in Kamarie's name may be made to her family.
