Bismarck - Kaleb Kanden Lee Jacobsen (McQueen), 20, of Bismarck, IL, passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2025. He was born on May 9, 2005, in Danville, IL, to Sarah McQueen (Baron) and Karl (KJ) Jacobsen Jr., and was the beloved stepson of Joey McQueen. A proud graduate of Bismarck High School, Kaleb was an accomplished athlete, participating actively in wrestling, football, and baseball.
Kaleb had an infectious personality and a fiercely loving nature that lit up every room. He Was A Mommas Boy And Wasn’t Afraid To Show it He Didn’t Play When It Came To Her! He possessed a unique ability to bring smiles to those around him and was determined to comfort anyone who was upset. His life was a testament to love, kindness, and bravery; he often embodied qualities we admired, standing tall in difficult situations. Kaleb’s quick trust in his decisions drew admiration, and he frequently connected effortlessly with others, regardless of their background. Known for his chattiness, he could talk his way in and out of many situations. Kaleb was a deep individual, selective about whom he shared his inner thoughts, and he held sentimental beliefs and superstitions that added to his charm. He would never split a pole, or pick up a penny tail side. He brought joy and life back into those who felt lonely, and he will be remembered with the utmost respect.
Kaleb worked as an apprentice meat cutter at Meijer, quickly showcasing his strong aptitude for learning new skills. He lived life with a spirit of adventure, finding joy in simple pleasures such as gaming, fishing, playing board games, and taking long walks. His greatest happiness came from spending time with his family and best friends, including Noah Drude, Justin Weidenburner, Trace Reynolds, Brodie Garrison, and his long-distance gaming friend Bryce Leber. Kaleb’s love for music was a gift that brought happiness to those around him.
He is survived by his mother, Sarah Baron; stepfather, Joey McQueen; brothers Kyler Modglin (Ariel), Tevin McQueen, Carter McQueen, Bentley McQueen, Trevor Jacobsen, and Lucas Jacobsen; sister, Karli Jacobsen; grandparents Crystal Fields, Ron and Brenda Martin, and Nick and Sharon Islam; aunts Mallory and Abby Fields, Samantha, Kaitlyn, Madison, Anaia (Andrew), Mayci Martin, and Gracie Kubecka; cousins Lane Taylor, Rylie and Zoey Islam, Maylenn and Myla Space, Sofia De la Hoya Rojas, and Zolah Brooks; his girlfriend Ky; and her parents, Jason and Tabitha Pate, who treated him like a son of their own.
Kaleb is preceded in death by his father, Karl (KJ) Jacobsen; grandparents Karla and Harry Jacobsen, and Gary Baron; great-grandparents Sue and Frank Scott, and George McQueen; cousin Braylenn Fields; Taylor Pitmon; and uncle Zachary Martin. Also by his favorite rapper of all time, Juice WRLD.
Family, friends, and all whose lives Kaleb touched are invited to gather at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834, on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, for visitation. A service to honor his life will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, where we will reminisce, grieve, and support each other during this difficult time.
