Kaitlyn Michelle Marie Foster, 15, of Westville, passed away on September 11, 2012 at Lurie's Children's Hospital in Chicago, IL. Kaitlyn was born on October 27, 1996 in Danville to Lonnie and Carmen (Engel) Foster. She is survived by her parents, one sister- Kacie Engel, two brothers- Logan Foster and Jesse Engel, grandparents- Larry (Judy) Ellis, Ed Engel and Gene (Libby) Foster, two uncles- Eddie (Tammy) Engel and John Ellis, four aunts- Vickie (Jeff) Slavik, Barb (Stan) Flageolle, Tammy Cotton and Brandi Wesley, several cousins and three special friends- Sean McBride, Hannah Mikel and Jessie Bernard. She was preceded in death by one sister- Halie Foster, two cousins- Michael Flageolle and Jesse James Fulton, two grandmas- Nellie Anderson and Joanne Engel and one special friend- Sabrina Dahlman. The family would like to give a special thank you to Tara whose selfless donation to Gift of Life gave Kaitlyn to us for three precious years longer. Kaitlyn was very loving, caring and giving with her time. She started her own charity, the Kaitlyn Foster Children's Fund which has helped many children. She loved babies, cooking like Rachel Ray, laughing, playing music and was most excited for the Labor Day Pageant she was going to be in. Kaitlyn started her own charity with the help of the Masonic Lodge in Catlin, IL. She was named a Miracle Child for Children's Miracle Network. She also participated for the I.S.U. Dance Marathon which helped raise of a million dollars. Kaitlyn was a member of the Organization for Understanding Children's Hearts in Peoria, IL, where there was a special cabin at the Wildlife Prairie Park for families to have private retreats. The cabin was built through donations. The roof for this special place was dedicated in Kaitlyn's name. The last month of Kaitlyn's life was filled with the dream of being Junior Miss in the Westville Labor Day Celebration. A Celebration of Kaitlyn's Life will be held on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Sunset funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville with Pastor James Blue officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials can be made in Kaitlyn's name to the Kaitlyn Foster Children's Fund.
