Justin Guthrie

Justin Wayne Guthrie, 44, of Covington, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at his mom's house in Georgetown, Illinois on June 1, 2024.

Justin's first love was motocross racing which he enjoyed with his dad. They shared the love of the sport and loved spending time with their motocross family. Along with his dad, his mom and sister went to the races to root him on every weekend while he was growing up.

Justin met his wife, Katie (Freeman) Guthrie at the races when she came with some of her other race friends. They have been together for 26 years and have a son together, Gavin Wayne Guthrie, 16, and he attends Covington high school. Gavin meant the world to Justin. One thing they loved to do together was watch 'THE RANCH' together.

Justin also enjoyed spending time with family, cooking out on the grill, and keeping in touch with his race family. Justin worked at kraft in champaign, Illinois for the last few years.

Justin leaves behind his wife, Katie and his son, Gavin. He also leaves behind his mother, Laura Guthrie, his sister, Shannon Guthrie and his niece, Hannah Ceader. Justin is proceeded in death by his father, Bradley Guthrie, his maternal grandparents, Roy and Donna Jackson and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Guthrie.

A visitation will be held on Monday June 10, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois, 200 East West Street, from 2-3pm with a service at 3pm, Burial to follow in Forest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made in Justins name to Suicide Prevention Association.
