June Yeargin

June Yeargin, 101, of Georgetown, passed away at 2:18am Friday March 3, 2018 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. She was born on June 14, 1916 in Danville, the daughter of Fred and Lena {Mitchell} Sheets. June was united in marriage to Archie Yeargin on August 12, 1940, he preceded her on September 4, 1986. Surviving are: her two daughters, Charlotte (Patrick) Stewart of Saugatuck, Mi and Sharon Bringleson of Fort Collins, CO; her four grandchildren, Geno Malusek, Lance Smith, Erik Bringleson and Cheralyn Janus; and her great-grandson, Wesley Malusek. She was preceded in death by: her parents; one infant son; and her daughter Charlene Janus. June was a graduate of Indiana State University earning a Bachelor's Degree. June lived at North Logan Healthcare in Danville the last six years but lived in Georgetown before that and taught elementary school for many years. She enjoyed reading books from the library, working crossword puzzles, and watching sports and old-time movies on TV. Most of all she enjoyed her family and grandchildren. A celebration of June's life will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown. with Pastor John Myers officiating. Visitation will be from 12pm to 2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in McKendree Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given in her name to the Georgetown Friends Church or Georgetown Public Library.
