June Roberta Heidbreder

Eugene, Ind. - June Roberta Heidbreder, 96, a life-long resident of Eugene, passed away at 1:45 p.m. EDT Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Union Hospital Clinton, Clinton, Indiana. She was born July 3, 1917, in Cayuga, the daughter of John S. and Elda(Stagl)Grondyke. She married William(Bill)Heidbreder on June 22, 1942. June was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, a sister, Altheda Grondyke, her brother, John Samuel Grondyke and her son-in-law, Lewis Newlan. June was a member of the Eastern Star for over fifty years, served many years as assistant 4-H leader, member of the Cayuga Social Studies Club and served as the Indiana State Chairman of the Music and Art's Division of the Women's Federation of Clubs. One of her hobbies that she enjoyed with her husband was photography. she was a member of both the Danville and Rockville camera clubs. June was a trustee of the Eugene Cemetery Association. A strong supporter of community, she was involved with Pioneer Days and Eugene Harvest Days and served as honored "Queen" for both festivals. She was a member of the Eugene United Methodist Church and a 1935 graduate of Cayuga High School. She is survived by one daughter, Treva Newlan of Foley, Alabama; one son, Warren Heidbreder(Pam) of Muscatine, Iowa; one granddaughter, Danna Roper(Jeff) of Tupelo, Mississippi; two grandsons, William Heidbreder(Jessica) of Johnston, Iowa and Dale Newlan of santa Monica, California; and four great grandchildren, Grace, Steffanie, Owen and Jean-Luc. June's smiling face and friendly wave from the front porch of her home in Eugene will be missed. Graveside services and burial: 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Jon Overbey and Rev. Richard Pippin; Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. EDT Monday, October 14, 2013 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana.
