June Rose Jackson Seitzinger, age 92 died December 5, 2020 at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman, Illinois. She was born July 14, 1928 to Franklin Richard and Olive Elsie Bisbee Jackson in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was a graduate of Hamilton General Hospital School of Nursing in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She was a Surgical Nurse at Cook County and Columbus Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois retiring in 1956.
On April 4, 1953 she married Dr. Grover Leonard Seitzinger at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2019. She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Gray of Godfrey, Illinois and Karen (Todd) Baxter of Columbus, Indiana. She has four grandsons, Jared (Amber) Gray, Kyle (Juliet) Gray, Stephen Baxter and Daniel Baxter, and three great grandchildren, Piper and Jackson Gray, and Atlas Gray. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, her brother Rev. Franklin Ralph Jackson and sister Vivien Joyce Jackson Cherniak.
June was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Danville, Illinois. She was a member of the Vermilion County Medical Auxiliary, previously serving as President. She was a member of the Danville Garden Club, previously serving as President. She delivered Meals on Wheels and worked with Faith in Action.
Per her wishes she will be cremated and will have a private interment at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 has been entrusted with arrangements.
