June Papst Knoll, 69, of Catlin, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, at Legacy Midtown Park in Dallas, Texas. She was born on May 1, 1953, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Peter and Eleanor Papst.
June married Dennis Knoll and they spent 30 plus loving years together. June and Dennis raised their four sons in Catlin, Illinois and always considered Catlin to be home. June was first and foremost a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and married into Iowa Hawkeye fandom. She loved playing euchre and bunco with friends, working at the Bingo Hall in Belgium, and watching every Hallmark Christmas movie.
June Bug will be remembered as a loyal friend, being honest to a fault, and an avid QVC shopper. June was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
While Junes family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember June in a way that honors her spirit. That of kindness, loyalty, and devotion.
Preceding June in death include her husband, Dennis Knoll, and her parents, Pete and Dolly Papst
She is survived by her four sons, Steven (wife Brittany), Kevin (fianc Nila), Keith, and Jonathan (wife Colby); her sisters, Petra Papst and Beth Andoga (husband Jim); her two grandchildren, Ella and Hudson; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. A service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at St. Paul's Catholic Church,1303 N. Walnut St. Danville, IL 61832. Father Deus Byomuhangi will officiate. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Catlin, IL following the service.
