June F. Summersgill

June F. Summersgill, 89, of Georgetown, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at her home. She was born on June 11, 1923, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Olyn W. and Olive Z. {Babbit} Hammond, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Richard Summersgill on November 26, 1943, in Erie, PA. He will miss her dearly. She will also be missed by: her daughters, Rita Casner of Westville & Chris (James) Hines of Bloomington, IL; her grandchildren, Laura (Dan) States of Madison, WI, David Hines of Bloomington, IL, Sara (John) Hines-Mullins of Milwaukee, WI, & Dawn (Justin) Varvel of Westville; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn States, Mia Varvel, & one on-the-way; and her sister, Marolyn J. (Richard) Finney of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her son-in-law, James Casner; and her four brothers, Olyn, Alvin, H. Jack, & Donald. June enjoyed being a homemaker and that included making her children's clothes, cooking for the family, & canning. She loved traveling and being outdoors. She enjoyed going to Texas in the winters. Most of all, June loved being with her family and cherished her grandchildren. We Love You, Mom! A celebration of June's life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Matt Filicsky officiating. Visitation will be 4:00pm-8:00pm, Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in June's name to the American Cancer Society.
