June Dolores Wells

June "Dolores" Wells, Mom to 5, Granny to 16, and GiGi to 12, went to be with our dad in heaven on March 12, 2019.

Born January 21, 1929 to Elsie and Ira Brumitt in Tunnel Hill, IL, Mom grew up in Kankakee where she met our father, Lawrence A. Wells. From there they moved to Danville where they raised their family. Dad passed away November 1, 2005.

Mom was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Betty, Robert and Duane; grandchildren, Heather Mattern and Charlton Cratz; and son-in-law, Michael Peak.

Mom loved her family, her home, and the Lord. She liked to cook and will be fondly remembered for her great fried chicken, bread, rolls and pies. Above all, Mom will be remembered for doting on her grandchildren. Perhaps thats why she will be remembered by most as "Granny".

Grandchildren, Adam (Valorie) McMillan; Greer (Andrew Harris) Trapkus-Harris; Wells, Dane (Teresa), Blair Trapkus; Shawna Peak, Mekenzie (Jeremy) Hiser; Clint (Katie) Peak; Justin Britton; Erik (Taryn) Cratz; Matthew, Daniel (Kimberly), Rachel, Hannah Wells; and Great-grandchildren, Charlie, Brennan, Banks, Hoyt, Duke, Saddie, Grahm, Myli, June, Hadlee, Tatum and Ruben.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois. Officiating will be Pastor Don Hesler. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 1pm to 4pm at the funeral home.
