June D. Jones

Cayuga, Ind. -- June D. Jones, 83, of Cayuga, passed away at 6:20 a.m. EDT Thursday, March 17, 2011 at The Waters of Covington in Covington, Indiana. She was born March 2, 1928 in Montezuma, Indiana, the daughter of the late Pearl E. and Clara L. Murdock Vandevender. She married Charles F. Jones on July 2, 1955 in Georgetown, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1970. Survivors include her children, John(Barbara)Smith of Texas; Carolyn(Tom)Oakes of Villa Grove, Illinois and Steve(Pat)James of Cayuga, Indiana; six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Charles Jackson; two sisters and two brothers. June retired from Inland Container south of Cayuga. She also formerly worked at General Electric in Danville, Illinois. June enjoyed baking, gardening and sewing. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EDT Monday, March 21, 2011 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Bob Cruea; Burial: Eugene Cemetery in Eugene, Indiana; Visitation: 2 to 6 p.m. EDT Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the funeral home.
