June Conner

June "Blue" Conner, 96, of Danville passed away on Wednesday evening at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman, IL. June was born in Danville on February 23, 1919 the daughter of Everette and Lola "Swisher" Blue. June was preceded in death by her parents and her two late husbands Alfred Lynn Gard who she married in June of 1940 and was with till his death in November of 1986. June later married Myles William Conner in November of 1988 he preceded her in January 18, 1999. Surviving is a daughter Lynda "Gard" Nixon, and a granddaughter Samantha Lynn Nixon both of Arizona. June was employed for 38 years at Homes Brothers Incorporated in the office, she later worked as a Hearing Monitor for Social Security Office for Hearing Appeals. She loved animals and served as the President, Treasurer, and Board member of the Danville Humane Society, receiving a Service Award in 1986 for 30 years of dedication to the Animal Welfare. A graveside service will be held on Monday August 17, 2015 at 10 am. At Gundy Cemetery to celebrate June's life. In lieu of flowers June's family asks that memorial be made to the Danville Animal Shelter in her name. June entrusted Sunset Funeral Home with her arrangements.
