Julie Lomax

Julie (Dowers-Hine) Lomax, age 47, of Danville, passed away at 3:25 am on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 16, 1961 in Danville the daughter of Glen and Helen (Hendricks) Dowers. She married Rodney Hine and he preceded her in death in 1992. Julie is survived by a son: Rodney Bo (Traci) Miller; a daughter: Jennifer (David) McQuown; her grandchildren: Brandon, Justin, Joshua, Lawrence, Ronnie, Tiffani, Katelynn, Matthew, a grandson that will be arriving next month: Alex; six sisters: Linda Staley, Rita King, Cathy (Gary) Brown, Donna (Allen) Kagels, Glenda (Mike) Lomax, Becky (Jim) Swider and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother: Ronnie Dowers, one sister: Tonya Taylor and two nephews. Julie enjoyed mushroom hunting and taking care of her animals, especially her dog Freckles. Most of all she loved being a mother and grandmother and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of Alex. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service for Julie will be held at 2 pm on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Danville United Church of Christ. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center handled arrangements. Memorial donations in Julies name can be made to the Danville United Church of Christ or the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
