Julia Zedrick

Julia Zedrick, 91, died October 2, 2010, with her family at her side at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville, Illinois. The daughter of Samuel and Florence Haun, Julia was born on December 4, 1918. She married Mike Zedrick Sr. on September 20, 1941, at Saint Marys Church in Westville, Illinois. Julia is survived by her sons Mike Jr.(Jan), Pat (Pam), Carl (Christie), and Jeff (Reinie); daughter Linda (Jim) Arbor; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Julia always gave of herself to those whom she came in contact with throughout her life. Her sewing provided clothes, blankets, quilts, and other gifts adored by all. She enjoyed gardening, cultivating the most beautiful flowers and wonderful vegetables. An active member of Saint Marys Church, she gave almost seventy years of her time, prayers, and devotion to its growth. It was Julias family, however, that provided the most joy in her life. She loved to host all of her children and their families at her home, cooking the most delicious meals while enjoying hours of conversation and stories. Julias selfless love was humbling while her gentle smile and warm embrace were deeply cherished and will forever be missed by everyone in her family. They take peace, however, in knowing she is in a much better place with her husband, Mike Sr., whom she loved most and preceded her in death just over eight years ago. Julia was also preceded in death by her son Mark; granddaughter Margaret Ann; sister Hester; and brothers Harold, James, and Samuel. A visitation will be held at Sunset Urbas Funeral Chapel in Westville, Illinois, on Tuesday, October 5, from 4:00-7:00 PM with a praying of the Rosary at 7:00 PM. The funeral will be held at Saint Marys Church in Westville the following day at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Schlarman High School or the charity of your choice.
