JULIA W. MEHARRY Julia W. Meharry, 91, of Danville, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2006 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. Julia was born on August 21, 1914 in Danville, the daughter of Sherman and Winifred (Carter) Wilson. She married Howard W. Meharry on April 9, 1939 in Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1991. She is also survived by her one son- Jim (Judy) Meharry of Danville; one sister- Jeanne (Harry) Eisenhauer of Danville; two grandchildren- Jamie (Bryan) Wolfe of Bloomington, Illinois and Jodi Meharry of Bloomington, Illinois; two great-grandchildren- Gavin Halsey and Gage Wolfe both of Bloomington, Illinois; one special niece- Julie (Kevin) Krum of Wilmington, North Carolina; one special nephew- Scott (Amy) Eisenhauer of Danville; one very special great-niece- Mallory Krum of Wilmington, North Carolina; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers- Sterling Wilson and Woodrow Wilson. Julia graduated from Danville High School in 1933. She worked at the Danville Township office until she went to work at Warner Cable T.V., where she worked until she retired. After retiring from Warners she worked at D& D food market. Julia was a member of the Danville United Church of Christ. She was a member of the Union Corner 4-H sewing club since 1935. Julia was a homemaker for the most part. She was well known for her delicious cooking and her love of sewing. She also enjoyed collecting angels. Julia was always there if anybody needed anything. She was well known for her beautiful smile. She loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be known as a mother to all. A celebration of the life of Julia W. Meharry will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Pamela Starr officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Danville United Church of Christ.
