Julia J. Beachey

Julia J. Beachey, 74, of Mahomet, passed away at 2:42 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2023. She was born in Mattoon, IL on January 4, 1949, the daughter of Elmer and Betty (Empson) Beachey.

Julia is survived by her children, Becca, Alysia, Daniel, Lindsey, and Sadie, grandchildren, Julia, Joanna, Jeorge, Liam, and Kearney, as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Roger, and Nora Beachey.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Julia was a selfless and loving person who always put others before herself. She received her bachelors degree from Parsons College in Iowa and later received her masters degree from Illinois State University. She worked as a schoolteacher for many years and was passionate about working with underprivileged children. Throughout her life, she took in and cared for countless children with special needs and adopted several children whom she loved deeply. Eventually, Julia returned to school and obtained a degree in nursing to better care for her children. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping and searching for a good bargain.

A Celebration of Julias life will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Sunsets Mahomet Chapel, 1102 Churchill Rd. Mahomet, IL with a Memorial Service immediately following.
