Julia E. Bounds, 82, of Danville, passed away at 9:31 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, following an extended illness. Julia was born on November 20, 1925 in Hume, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Ruth T. (Twigg) Carr . She married Bill B. Bounds on June 20, 1958 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He survives. She is survived by her one brother- Pat (Martha) Carr of Villa Grove, Illinois; two sisters-in-law- Sue Carr of Danville and Shirley Patterson of Hemet, California; several beloved nieces and nephews; two step-sons- Steve Bounds and Mark (Susan) Bounds both of Danville; one step-daughter- Angela (Mark) Hodgson of Oakwood. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother- Mike Carr. Julia graduated from Hume High School in 1941. After high school she attended the University of Illinois. She worked for Smythe Automotive and later worked for Teamsters Local #26 for 32 years as a bookkeeper and office manager. She devoted a lot of her time to the Teamsters. Julia retired in 2001 and became a member of the Teamsters Retiree Club. She was a devote member of St. Pauls Catholic Church and helped in delivering communion to shut-ins in the community. She was also a member of the Father Motsett Society. Julia loved her animals, antiques, taking photos and reading. A Celebration of the Life of Julia E. Bounds will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at St. Pauls Catholic Church with Father Greg Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Entombment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Julias name to St. Pauls Catholic Church, Vermilion County Animal Shelter, Father Motsett Society or to the donors choice.
