Julia C. Wise

Julia was born in Armstrong, IL on February 28, 1925, to Nola and Ola Wright. She had two brothers Glen and Dick, who are deceased. She graduated from Armstrong High School in 1943. After graduation, she worked as a veratyper of secure military documents at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, IL during World War II. Julia married Wendell C. Wise on August, 25, 1946. They lived in Danville, IL in the home they built themselves for 61 years until Wendell passed away on April 14, 2014. Julia was a homemaker and also worked many years at Sears in the children's department and later at the Fashion, a women's clothing store in the Village Mall. Julia has one daughter, Gayle (Don) Anderson of Las Vegas, NV; two grandchildren Eric Anderson of Champaign, IL and Julie (Michele) Stilwell of Port Richey, Florida; three great grandchildren, Ryan Stilwell of Tampa, Florida, Rachel (Ric) Vera of Tampa, Florida, Frances Anderson of Champaign, IL; and a great-great grandson, Jaxon Vera. A celebration of Julia's life will be held at 11:00 AM on April 1, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Rev. Randall Robinson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM prior to the service. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church - United Methodist Women or to the University United Methodist Church - Hats and Hands Ministry, 4412 S.
