Judy Shanks

Judy L. Shanks, 74, of Danville, IL passed away at 4:35 PM on September 12, 2025 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Charleston, IL.

Judy was born on May 2, 1951 in Belton, TX the daughter of Roy and Martha (Mangan) Parker. She was formerly married to Howard Shanks.

Survivors include her children, Eric (Shane) Shanks of Ridge Farm, IL, Jason (Kristin) Shanks of Danville, IL and Kristin (Scott) Roberts of Charleston, IL, eleven grandchildren, Paije, Bradley, Jennifer, Hannah, Spencer, Quincy, Ava, Emmi, Cailin, Hayleigh and Ryellie, seven great grandchildren, Ellie, Gemma, Lillie, Izzy, Cole, Parker and Avery, as well as siblings, Richard Arnold, Harvey Arnold, Martha Jane (Steve) Dollison, Joyce Witherspoon and Johny (Regina) Parker and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Jennifer Shanks and siblings, Lillian Scott, Maryann Renick, Thomas Arnold, Douglas Arnold, Son Arnold, Charles Arnold, Mary Ellen Tanner, Louise Kifer, Arlene Rohm, R. A. Parker, Alfred Lee Parker, and William Parker.

Judy loved spending her free time reading, playing computer games, and watching television, especially her cooking programs. Most of all, Judy loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

A Celebration of Life for Judy will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Paul Rebert will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the funeral home.
