Judy K. Gayler, 73, of Danville, IL, passed away at 3:25am, Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at her sons home. She was born on June 9, 1947, in Danville, IL, the daughter of William and Helen {McKinney} Shuman. She married Gale Gayler on March 1, 1975, until his passing on July 27, 2013. Surviving are her two sons, John (Suzanne) Allen and Brad (Cara) Allen; her two brothers, William Shuman of Killeen, TX, and Tony (Linda) Shuman of Wallace, IN; her two sisters, Sharon Lapin and Debra Sandefer, both of Covington; her sister-in-law, Mary Shuman of Covington; her two grandchildren, Chelsea (Michael) Slider and Jordan Allen, who were the loves of her life; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Bobby Gene Shuman and Jerry Shuman. She worked at General Electric, Maple Corner Restaurant for 12 years and later Red Lobster in Danville, IL, where she retired in 2007, after 15 years as a manager. Judy loved sewing and spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She was an officer on the board of the Covington Little League for 8 years and the Fountain County Election Board for 7 years. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm (EST), Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington. The family was assisted by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932.
