Judith Thomason

Judith E. Thomason, 67, passed away on December 29, 2015, at her home in Urbana. She was born on September 21, 1948, in Champaign, the daughter of John Buren and Ruth Hanson Aldrich. Judy graduated from Champaign Senior High School in 1966. Prior to her retirement in 2000, Judy worked at Vesuvius USA in Fisher, Marco Steel in Champaign, AmeriGas Propane in Urbana, and Casey's General Store in Homer. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and cherished her many pets over the years. She loved collecting frogs, playing games, and spending time with friends and family. She also liked fishing and was a member of the Vermilion Fishing Club in Oakwood. She is survived by her parents of Rantoul, formerly longtime residents of Champaign; one daughter, Lori (Michael) Crim of Centralia, WA; two sisters, Deanna (Donald) Wells, Cape Coral, FL, and Cindy Reynolds, Rantoul; and cousin, Linda Fritchey, Urbana. She also has 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Carpenter, in 1973, and her grandparents. Memorials can be made to the Champaign County Humane Society or the Church of the Brethren in Champaign. Celebration of Judy's life will be held at 11am on Tuesday January 5, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home in Champaign at 710 N. Neil St. Champaign. With Pastor Larry McCoy officiating. With a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Fooseland Cemetery.
