Judith "Judy" A. Mitchell

Tilton - Judith Ann (Carnaghi) Mitchell of Tilton, IL passed away at 11:21 PM on June 6th, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. Judith “Judy” was born to Joseph and Margaret (Mingee) Carnaghi on June 11, 1944, in Tilton, IL. She married Charles John Mitchell in 1962.

They lovingly raised three daughters and a niece, Cindy (Mike) Mayoras, Sherri (Scott) Boswell, Tina (Randy Sollars) Bradfield, and Beth (DG) Washkowiak.

Judy is also survived by her 21 grandkids, 24 great-grandkids, 3 great-great grandkids and a special nephew, Brian (Sheri) Carnaghi, and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, brother, her in-laws, and two sisters-in-law.

Judy loved family, friends, euchre, and everything Christmas. Though she will be deeply missed, Judy will be remembered for her spunk, generosity, kindness, and her love for family.

A Celebration of Life for Judy Mitchell will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Sunset’s Urbas Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville, IL 61883. Pastor Jay Sorrell will officiate. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, June 12, also at Sunset in Westville.
