Judith "Judy" Mariage

Judith “Judy” Mariage, 88, of Georgetown, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2026.

Born on February 23, 1938, in Georgetown, Illinois, Judy was the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy (Brooks) Middlemas. Throughout her life, she was known for her warm heart, her love of family, and her ability to find joy in the simple things.

Judy cherished every moment spent with the people she loved most. Whether she was gathering with family, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, or sharing stories and laughter around the table, those moments brought her the greatest happiness. Her family was her pride and joy, and she never missed an opportunity to let them know how much they meant to her.

She also enjoyed many favorite pastimes, including playing BINGO and making trips to Culver’s, where good food and good company always made for a perfect day. Judy had a way of making ordinary moments special, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to those around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Unakis; her son, John (Aimee) Unakis; her grandchildren,, Chad Runner, Erika (Aaron) Hastings, Autumn Parke, Jordan Wallace and Kristen Unakis; her great-grandchildren, Greyson, Addison, Eleanor and Jayah; and her sister, Nancy Koehn.

Judy was welcomed into eternal rest by those who preceded her in death: her beloved husband, James Mariage; her parents, Ralph and Dorothy (Brooks) Middlemas; her brother, Larry Middlemas; and her sister, Sally Crawford.

Judy will be laid to rest at Forest Park Cemetery at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Urbas Chapel at 414 S State Street Westville, Illinois, assisted the family with Judy's final wishes. Please join Judy's family in sharing pictures, memories, and videos on her tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com

Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind. Judy's legacy is one of love, family, laughter, and togetherness. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
