Judith E. Moody

Westville, Ill. - Judith E. (Phelps) Moody, 61, of Westville, passed away at 3 a.m. CDT Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Danville, Illinois. She was born September 26, 1950 in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of the late Lessie V. and Barbara L. Howard Phelps. Survivors include two daughters, Nicole Short and her life partner ( Amanda B.) of Hanover, Indiana; Angelene Nickle of Covington, Indiana; one son, Vincent(Dawn)Short of Newport, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Storie Nickle; Gianna Ingargiola; Addonis Ingargiola; Dylan Short; Oliva and Sydni Hass; Ashlie Wieck; Raelee Merryman and Shelby Robertson; two great grandchildren, Kyra and Railyn Wieck; one sister, Chris(Tom)Beaven of Clinton, Indiana; six brothers, John(Vickie)Phelps of St. Bernice, Indiana; Leonard T.(Patti)Phelps of Cayuga, Indiana; Stephen "Steve"(Cindy)Phelps of Dana, Indiana; Anthony W.(Lori)Phelps of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Michael R.(Cheryl)Phelps of Cayuga, Indiana and Joseph M.(Traci)Phelps of Dana, Indiana; special friend, Jami Haas of Westville, Illinois. Judith was in Quality Management at the V.A. Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois, retiring in 2005. She was a 1969 graduate of North Vermillion High School. Judith enjoyed sewing, cooking, decorating, bowling and volunteering alot of her time. Judith was a friend to many people. She was very humorous and courageous. Judith was a very dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She will be deeply missed. Per Judith's wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life dinner will be held at the Cayuga Christian Church Youth Center from 3 to 6 p.m. EDT Saturday, May 19, 2012.
