Judith Ann Judy Lappin, 71, of Covington, IN, passed away at 1:00pm EDT, on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born on October 20, 1939, the daughter of Arthur and Lola (Matthews) Adair. Both are deceased. On August 2, 1958, Judy married Donald Lappin. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2000. Survivors include their son, Jeffery Lee Lappin of Marietta, GA, and their two daughters, Jennifer (Larry) Kirby of Rantoul, IL, and Shelly (Kevin) Huston, of Lafayette, IN. Her granddaughter, Harmony (Richard) Calhoun of Elk Grove, CA, grandson, Travis Huston of Lafayette, IN, and her great grandson, Thomas Lee Calhoun. Her 2 sisters, Betty Joann (Maurice Mo) Jenness of Leesburg, FL, Nancy (Richard) Lightle of Rosedale, IN, her mother-in-law, Orena Lappin of W. Lafayette, IN, 2 sisters-in-law, Margene (Curly) Anderson of Boswell. IN, Linda Lappin of W. Lafayette, IN, brother-in-law, Jerry Hall of Angola, IN,and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive her. In addition to her parents, and husband, Donald aka 'Santa' her 2 brothers, Russell and Kenneth Adair, and a brother-in-law, Richard Lappin, preceded Judy in death. She was a Pine Village High School graduate,and a member of the Red Hat Society, where she met many friends. During her working years, Judy, worked for State Farm Insurance Company, Robintech, and Benjamin's Restaurant in Covington. She also worked at Wimpey's, and Swiss Colony. Her hobbies included, reading, going to flea-markets and festivals. She was an avid bowler during the 1970s and 80s and enjoyed dining out, music, and traveling. She will be missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of the Life of Judy Lappin will begin at 2:00pm EDT on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Sunsets Covington Chapel located at 420 3rd Street in Covington, IN, A Life Celebration Home, with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8pm EDT, on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the funeral home.
