Champaign- Judith Ann Cox 66, of Champaign passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 26, 2012) at her residence. Judy was born June 26, 1946 in Moline, Il, she was the daughter of Melville H. and Jeanne O. Henss Miller. They preceded her in death. She married Kenneth Cox on June 19, 1965 at the Hampton United Methodist Church in Hampton, IL. He survives. Also surviving a son Craig (Melissa) Cox of Champaign, IL and a daughter Brenda (Karson) Drake of Round Lake Heights, IL. Five grandchildren Haley and Alex Cox, Taylor, Madeline, and Grace Drake. A step grandaughter Summer Parham. One sister Jayne (Dick) Booth of Moline, IL. Judy graduated from UTHS High School in 1964 and later graduated from Blackhawk Practical Nursing School in 1965. After Blackhawk she worked as an office nurse for several doctors. She was active in the United Methodist Church all of her life as a pastor's wife and was past president of the United Methodist Women. She was very active in church choir, quilting and crafts. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Faith United Methodist Church, 1719 S. Prospect in Champaign. Officiating will be Rev. Wes Wilkey. A graveside service will be in Zuma Cemetery in Port Byron, IL at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Champaign- Urbana Chapel 710 N. Neil St., in Champaign. Memorials may be made to the Ken and Judy Cox Scholarship at the Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary or the Preacher's Aid Society.
