Juanita F. Arnholt

Juanita F. Arnholt age 101 of Danville passed away at 1:00 am Friday August 12, 2005 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. She was born October 9, 1903 in Danville the daughter of Harry W. and Della MeHarry Shields. Juanita married Gerald G. Arnholt in June of 1924 he preceded her on January 24, 1966. Surviving are one son Gerald (Mary Anne Haas) Arnholt II of Danville, eight grandchildren; Nancy Jo Wendling of California, Robert W. (Kristi) Arnholt of Danville, Angela (Kevin) Irvin of Rantoul, William (Michelle) Arnholt of Kalamazoo, Mi, Thomas (Barbara) Arnholt of Veedersburg, In, Brian (Linda) Arnholt of Rockford, Mathew (Kristal) Arnholt of Danville, Gerald (Dianne) Arnholt III of Germantown, Wi, also nine great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents one son William Arnholt and two sisters Ercel McGrath and Genevieve Starr. Juanita had been the oldest living graduate of Garfield School and D.H.S. after graduating She attended Il State Normal University. She and her husband owned and operated the first Drive-in restaurant in Danville known as Arnholt Drive-in from 1941 to 1946 and later opened up the Arnholt Bakery. Juanita had also been a school teacher at Collett School. She was a member of Central Christian Church for over 50 years and also a 50 year member of Danville Chapter of the Eastern Star, past member of the Altrusa club, life member of the Y.W.C.A and Lakeview Memorial Auxiliary. Juanita was past mighty chosen one of the GAO Cauldron. She loved to fish and enjoyed her trips to Canada, she loved flowers and herb gardening. Juanita will be cremated as per her wishes with a private family memorial service at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
