J.T. Riggs

J.T. Riggs, 90, left this world to meet his loving wife at the pearly gates of heaven on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 5:45 a.m. at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville. He was born on September 13, 1930 the son of Anna and Charles Riggs in Hodgenville, Kentucky. He married Izel Foster on June 18, 1948.

J.T. is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Izel, who passed in 2013; a grandson, Seth; two brothers; and four sisters.

J.T. is survived by his children, Joseph (Kathy) Riggs and Ronald (Debbie) Riggs; four grandchildren, Megan, Nathan, Jennifer, and Kathy; eight great grandchildren; six brothers; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

J.T. was an ordained minister for about 47 years and truly loved the lord. He will be missed by all that knew him.

We want to thank all those of Garden court at Hawthorne inn for all the good care he received there especially from Kim Leloup.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Hunt. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
