Joyce Ruth Mariage

Danville - Joyce Ruth Mariage, 83, of Danville left this Earth, to be with her Lord and Savior in her Heavenly Home, on Friday July 28, 2017 at 6:40 pm with her family by her side. Joyce was born on June 7, 1934 the daughter of Everett and Mildred (Meadows) Pollitt in Danville, IL. She married Robert Mariage, Sr. on October 11, 1952 in Covington, IN. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Robert Mariage, Sr, one daughter, Debbie Witt of Danville, one granddaughter, Amanda (Micah) Schnepel of Danville, IL, one great granddaughter, Ellaina as well as several nieces and nephews. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Robert Mariage, Jr. as well as two sisters, Audrey Thomas and Dorothy Neal. Joyce is a member of Faith Baptist Church in Danville where she taught the youth program, Training Union, for many years. She is also a member of the "522 Club", the local retirees club of J.C. Penny's, where she had worked in the Catalogue Credit Department. Joyce was a wonderful cook, especially her swiss steak dinners, her special sweet potatoes, with marshmallow and brown sugar, as well a fabulous oatmeal cake. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, and making Hollyhock Dolls. Joyce will be dearly missed by her family and loved them all "a bushel and a peck." A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11:00 am at Faith Baptist Church, 920 Warrington Ave, Danville, IL. Allan Rudie will officiate. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL as well as one hour prior to services at the church. Memorial donations in memory of Joyce may be made to Faith Baptist Church or Carle Foundation Auxiliary.
