Joyce Jumps

Joyce Jumps, 57, of Danville passed away at 5:35 PM on December 25, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on June 4, 1957 in Danville, the daughter of Lorin Leon and Marcella Elene (DeMoss) Teeters. She married John Jumps on June 8, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. He survives. Joyce will be deeply missed by her mother, husband, two sons, Bradley Stevens and John (Shannon) Jumps, two daughters, Marci (John) Belton and Jessica (Danny) Lomax, one brother, Charles Teeters, three sisters; Debra “Deb” Stout, Joanna “Jo” (Jimmy) Wells and Lita Trimble, grandchildren; Nathan, Karlee, Madison, Matthew Belton; Cierra, Elexis, Faith, Isabella Lambert and Trent, John David, Jaryn, Jadyn Jumps, Kelsie and Carrie Jolley. Also nieces and nephews; Michele (Darrell) Lipp, Joey (Kelly) Alvarez, Robert (Mary) Jolley, Kyle (Amanda) Wells, Lindsey Teeters, Michelle Beasley and A.J. (Elizabeth) Wells and two dogs, “Princess” and “Niko”. She was preceded in death by her father (Leon), nephew (Jeremy Beasley) and two special dogs- “Sugar” and “Cuddles”. Joyce was known by her friends and family as either “Thumper” or “Joycee”. She received her GED from Danville Area Community College in 1978 and was a bartender at East Side Tap for 28 years. She loved to play games, throw mulligan stew parties, lounge in the pool and get together with her family whom she loved very much. Joyce was always making people laugh and living her life to the fullest. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan and will be missed by all of her family and friends. A Celebration of Joyces life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2014 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
