Joyce Fay White

Joyce Fay White, 98, of Danville, passed away at 12:15 PM, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Martin Health Center in Bloomington, IL. Joyce was born in Brazil, Indiana, on July 1, 1918, the daughter of Ralph and Julia Dean. On October 29, 1938, she married the love of her life, Joe A. White, and they spent the next 74 years of their lives together. He precedes her in death. Mrs. White is survived by her two sons: Joe (Diane) White of Bloomington, IL, and David (Georgianne) White of Oceanside, CA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Shelly White Wood, Joan Gjesfjeld, and Rachel Stalter, and seven great-grandchildren. Joyce is preceded in life by her parents and two brothers, Tom Dean and Bob Dean. Joyce was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her employment as executive secretary at Bohn Aluminum. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and an enthusiastic bridge player. She was a Cub fan who loved dancing with her husband, and she was life-long Roosevelt Democrat. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Shelly White Wood. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park following the service. Visitatilon will be held prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home.
