Joyce Adams

Danville - Joyce M. Adams, 73, of Danville, passed away on March 07, 2014. She was born July 09, 1940 in Danville, IL the daughter of John C. and Irene Chastain Crowell. She is survived by her sons, Wade (Mary) Adams and Lincoln (Paige) Adams; her sisters, Betty (Gene) Sanders and Doloris A. Shoaf; her grandchildren, Doug, Melissa, Trevor, and Jason Adams; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ruth; and her brother-in-law, Allen Shoaf. Joyce was a very active person; she was also a very lucky person. While Joyce would be out walking it was not uncommon for her to stumble upon money. Joyce moved with the V.A. to Florida where she was a secretary for over 25 years; she didnt mind the move at all because Joyce loved the beach. She loved being outside and enjoying the sun, especially when she would go swim in the ocean. Joyce was a very friendly person as well, she never knew a stranger. She loved spending time with people playing games, mainly Bingo and mahjong; she was also an avid Cubs fan. Joyce was a longtime member of Second Church of Christ. Above all else, Joyce loved her family and she will be dearly missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. A celebration of Joyces life will be held at 6pm on Monday March 10, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A visitation will be held on Monday March 10, 2014 from 4pm to 6pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Joyces name may be made to the Cancer Center at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center or Second Church of Christ.
