Josephine Stine

COVINGTON, IN- Mrs. Josephine Stine, 92 of Covington, IN, passed away at 9:06pm on Monday, October 23, 2006 at the Hawthorn Inn in Danville. She was born on August 12, 1914, in Westville, the daughter of Samuel and Ernesta (Cartiginine) Balsamello. Both her parents precede her in death. On February 13, 1935, Josephine married Mr. Anthony Tony Stine in Chicago. He precedes her in death. Josephine leaves behind her three grandchildren; Phil Stine of Indianapolis, IN, Gretchen (Brian) Lane of Fairmount, Shelley (Bobby) Kennedy of Danville, and her seven great-grandchildren; Alex, Tyler, Landon, Malerie, Andy, Addison, and Bennett. Her son Jerry, three brothers and three sisters precede Josephine in death. Josephine was a Westville High School graduate and later was employed with General Electric as a supervisor, retiring in 1970. In her younger years, she enjoyed square dancing with the Frontier Twirlers. She cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of the life of Josephine Stine is scheduled for 11:00am CST on Thursday, October26, 2006 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Home at 414 South State St. in Westville. Final resting place will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Westville. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9am until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Josephines name to the Alzheimers Foundation.
